Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains what Dewey Sample Manager (“Dewey”, “we”) collects when you use the Dewey sample manager and this website. We collect only what we need to sell, license, and support Dewey. We don’t sell your data.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
• License: which products you own, your purchase and order IDs, and an identifier generated from each computer you activate Dewey on, so we can enforce the activation limit.
• Payment: handled by Polar, our Merchant of Record. They collect your billing details. We never see your full card number.
• Update checks: Dewey asks our server for the latest version. It doesn’t send your account or library details.
• Technical data: like any website or online service, our providers record basic request data, such as your IP address and browser or app version, when you visit this site, download Dewey, or Dewey checks for updates or your license.
• Browser storage: this site keeps you signed in using your browser’s local storage. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
• Support: anything you send us by email.

What we don’t collect

Your samples and files stay on your computer. Dewey doesn’t upload them, scan them for us, or report what’s in your library.

Who processes your data

• Google Firebase: sign-in and account and license storage.
• Cloudflare: hosts this website and the installer downloads.
• Polar: checkout, payments, taxes, and refunds.

These providers only process your data to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and license data while your account exists, so you can keep using what you bought. Order records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export, or delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. Deleting your account ends your license. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have more rights under local law, and we’ll honor them.

Children

Dewey isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows when.
