Terms of Service

Last updated October 27, 2026

Who we are

Dewey is a sample manager made and licensed by Dewey Sample Manager (“Dewey”, “we”, “us”). By buying, downloading, or using Dewey, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Dewey.

Orders and payment

Orders are processed by Polar, the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Polar handles checkout, payment, and sales tax or VAT. Their buyer terms also apply to your purchase.

Dewey is a one-time purchase. You pay the price shown at checkout, plus any sales tax or VAT. There is no subscription.

Your license

When you buy Dewey, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it. Your license is tied to your Dewey account and can be activated on up to 4 computers. If you hit the limit, for example after replacing a computer, contact support and we’ll reset your activations.

You may not:

  • Share, resell, rent, or redistribute Dewey or your account.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify Dewey, except where the law allows it.
  • Get around the license check or activation limit.

Your samples

Your samples and files stay yours. Dewey organizes and plays them on your computer; it doesn’t upload them or claim any rights to them.

Refunds

You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. See the Refund Policy. A refund ends your license.

Updates

We may release updates to Dewey. Updates are covered by these terms. We aren’t obligated to provide any particular update or keep any feature.

Ending your license

Your license lasts until it ends. It ends if you get a refund, or if you break these terms. When it ends, you must stop using Dewey and delete it.

No warranty

Dewey is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Back up your files; we’re not responsible for lost data.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Dewey.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Nothing here limits consumer rights you have under the laws of where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date above shows when. If you keep using Dewey after a change, the new terms apply.
